Sitting in heavenly places....

Tonight was sooooooo awesome!!!!! Kim went to Zion Hill weekend before last, she took Toby and Silas to see Parker and Drew in their Christmas program. She was invited to a fellowship Christmas service sponsored by Zion Hill with Pelham Valley. Momma and I were invited also to come. So we went tonight and from the opening till the last Praise the Lord, it was an inspiring, rich, deep, spirit filled service. I cried most of the service. I was like a sponge trying to absorb each drop of water. The testimonies, the singing, the word, it can't be described with mere words. I praise the Lord for the privilege to be a part of this special service of fellowship with God and my brothers and sisters in the church. Let's see if I can recap some of it. Bro. Dupre moderated the service and he interrupted a couple of times to say something encouraging or request a song to be sung again. I think he thought he was still in Honduras, where they have no sense of time. Tonight, I didn't care about time either. I didn't want to leave even when it was over. Sis. Mary Shelton and her crew sang a couple of songs and of course she is over the top in heart, soul and spirit in anything she does. Then Sis. Janet Talley and the Brantley sisters sang a song, "The Lighthouse" and it was soul stirring. Bro. Werkheiser testified, Bro. and Sis. Reisch testified, Sis. Vickie Smith sang and testified, Sis. Bishop (whose luggage was lost on her trip back from Costa Rica, that is why she was there and wasn't home already) testified, Sis. Carter testified and sang. We had a wonderful worship time with the songs, "I'm on the Battlefield" and "Keep on the Firing Line". Bro. Dupre read the love chapter in Corinthians. Bro. Lanny Carter preached about God meeting our needs and we as the church meeting each others and this lost worlds needs to the best of our ability as moved on by the Holy Ghost. He closed 3 times. Sis. Janet Talley came to the piano and sang "What a Friend we have in Jesus" and the altar filled up with all of us weeping and seeking God for our needs. Bro. Matt Zimmerman got sanctified and came so close to receiving the Holy Ghost. The Spirit of God was soooo strong in that place and like I said before, I just cried and soaked it up like a sponge. We ended the service with "I know God is God". Then Bro. Lanny Carter had Sis. Mary Shelton come forward to tell her he heard her say at Minister's Convention how they were working on paying off their building. They did a fund raiser right after the Minister's Convention that raised 1, 500. towards that. Well, Bro. Carter and the local church Zion Hill, presented the Pelham Valley church a big check to pay off their mortgage. Sis. Mary had no idea and it was sooooo special and touching to watch the Spirit of love and unity and caring for one another be fulfilled before my very eyes. The real Spirit of the church, the real Spirit of Christmas. I wished I had the words to tell what this service meant to me. The Holy Ghost just opened the windows of heaven and poured out. We ended with the chorus, "Bind us together". It was well worth the drive, I would do it again and again to be in his presence. What a wonderful way to celebrate Jesus and his birth. Merry Christmas Pelham Valley.
